Having Oily-Sensitive skin keeps me on my toes. And my search for the perfect moisturiser is a never-ending affair. That’s because moisturisers made for oily skin trigger sensitivity of my skin, and the ones made for sensitive skin tend to make my skin oily. Therefore finding a balance is a task. Also, my skin changes according to the weather and my hormonal condition. That is why I tried 7 plum moisturisers and 2-night creams.
I know that is a lot! But trust me, they all have worked well for me in different situations and weather conditions. If you are intrigued to know which are all these moisturisers and how they worked for me, keep reading.
Also, a little disclaimer here. I have tried these moisturisers in different time spans for my various skin conditions. So I know how they perform individually. All the details are mentioned in the review. And skincare is subjective, so what works for me might or might not work for you.

Plum Hemp & Ceramides Moisturiser
If you haven’t heard about ceramides in skin care, you are probably living under a rock. Ceramides in skincare help repair damaged skin barrier and strengthen skin from within. The blend of hemp seed oil and algae oil calms irritated skin. This moisturiser works wonders for my sensitive skin in winter. It has visibly reduced the redness and itchiness. It contains three ceramides which build a stronger structure of the skin. This Plum ceramide moisturiser has been a blessing for me this winter. However, I don’t see myself using it during summer.
Plum Mattifying Green Tea Moisturiser
This is my very first moisturiser by Plum. It is strictly a summer and monsoon moisturiser. As the name suggests, it is quite mattifying and meant for oily skin only. It has a mild fragrance like every other product from the same range. It controls excess oil production and keeps my face oil-free for quite some time. The Plum mattifying moisturiser should be used day time only. And you may need a more hydrating and nourishing moisturiser at night time.
I have also noticed visibly brighter skin with continued use. As it controls excess sebum, it has helped me prevent acne. But as I said earlier, I prefer to use it in summer and monsoon to keep my skin oil-free. I have used other products from this range and reviewed them here.
Green Tea Night Gel is another product that helped me control excess oil.
Plum Green Tea Renewed Clarity Night Gel
Plum Green Tea Night cream has a gel consistency which doesn’t make my skin oily or greasy. It has Green Tea extracts to help combat acne and Argan oil that provides balanced hydration and helps skin retain moisture. The other ingredients are liquorice extract and organic aloe juice. Regular use of the moisturiser has also helped lighten my acne scars.

Every time I use the Plum Green Tea Renewed Clarity Night Gel; I wake up with soft n plump skin. It also has lightened dark spots left behind by pimples. The night gel also controls excess oil production.
If there is only one product you want to try, I highly suggest you try the Plum Green Tea Renewed Clarity Night Gel because it’s worth your salt. But it is strictly for oily skin, and it contains fragrance.
Talking about oil-free skin, next is an oil-free moisturiser for oily to combination skin.
Plum Green Tea Oil-free Moisturiser
It is a fragrance-free moisturiser for oily to combination skin. It has a different formulation, texture and ingredients than green tea mattifying moisturiser. It contains niacinamide and aloe leaf juice as key ingredients. So this Plum moisturiser helps control oil production while hydrating the skin. It also contains betaine and squalane, both skin-nourishing ingredients. I used the moisturiser when I was facing acne issues. I must say it has helped soothe my skin and control acne to some extent. It is hydrating and well-suited for acne-prone skin.
Plum Hello Aloe Caring Day Moisturiser
This moisturiser has been a staple in my skincare routine since winter. And now, use it as a night moisturiser during summer. It contains Aloe vera, Vitamin E and Glycerin. And as the name suggests, it is ultra-mild and lightweight. This Plum moisturiser has a thin and creamy consistency. That blends easily and leaves no white cast. Caring day moisturiser has a mild fragrance that goes away in a minute. It does not trigger my migraine. So it works fine for me. And it does not irritate my skin. It comes in tube packaging. That is travel friendly and easy to use.
The Plum moisturiser does not make my skin greasy or sticky. It does not give a matte finish like green tea moisturiser but doesn’t make my face oily. It is made with the basic ingredients and keeps my face moisturised for a long time. I have also noticed a little brightness when I use it regularly.
Plum Hello Aloe Caring day Moisturiser is made for sensitive skin. That’s why it does not contain any active ingredients. If you are looking for a moisturiser with some added benefits. As far as the moisturisation part is concerned, it does the job well.
Plum Hello Aloe Ultralite Day Lotion
It is called lotion because it has a slightly thicker consistency than the usual moisturiser. It has SPF 20, which makes it thick and creamy. It blends in easily and gets absorbed in the skin quickly without any white cast. The main ingredients in this Plum moisturiser are aloe leaf juice, Octyl Methoxycinnamate (also known as OMC in sunscreens), Benzophenone-3, and sunflower seed oil. Ultralite day lotion has a mild fragrance same as a caring day moisturiser. But it does not irritate my skin. It comes in a travel-friendly pump bottle.
It saves one extra step in layering my skincare products; that’s the only reason I prefer using it. When I am indoors, I use this and do not apply sunscreen.
But when going outside, you will need to apply a layer of sunscreen on top of this, as SPF 20 is not sufficient.
Plum Mandarin & Vitamin C Moisturiser
When all skincare brands are trying their hands at creating a functional and effective vitamin C moisturiser, Plum also steps their foot on the water. The vitamin C in this moisturiser is derived from 3% Ethyl Ascorbic acid, Kakadu Plum and Japanese Mandarin. For me, it is strictly a summer moisturiser. It felt sticky during winter. It has a gel consistency which will work for oily to combination skin. For dry skin, I don’t see this working even in summer.
It is a beginner-friendly vitamin C moisturiser. It won’t work for people already using vitamin C at 15% or higher concentration. However, it is a good moisturiser to maintain a healthy glow with regular use.
Plum Retinol Renewing Night Cream
People have mixed views about this moisturiser. Those who are using retinol in higher concentrations say it is basic. For those who have never used any retinol products, this is effective. Let me explain.
Retinyl palmitate used in this night cream is composed of palmitic acid and retinol (Vitamin A). It helps in collagen boost and reduces fine lines over time. But compared to retinol (used in prescription products), it is slow in showing results. But it is well tolerated by many skin types, especially sensitive ones. People using 1% or higher concentration of retinol have built a tolerance for it, and this moisturiser will be less effective for them.
But I highly recommend Plum Retinol Night Cream to anyone trying retinol for the first time. It also contains bakuchiol, bisabolol and some emmolients. You will notice visible results in your skin texture within 6 to 8 weeks of continued use.
Plum E-luminance Cream
I don’t use this cream as a moisturiser but to repair dry patches on my skin. It is a bit heavy for my skin. And trust me, it heals dry patches on my skin in just 2 to 3 uses. I think it will work excellently for dry skin people. Or people living in dry weather conditions. Also, it has a strong fragrance.
